- Old school meets new school as arranger/conductor Van Dyke Parks joins forces with free spirit Inara George. A friend and a collaborator of her father, Parks has known George since she was born. Parks had already worked with Randy Newman, Brian Wilson, and, more recently, U2 and Fiona Apple, so it was only a matter of time before he joined the upcoming songstress in the studio. Touring in support of their recent collaboration An Invitation, the two offer a rare opportunity to see old Hollywood seamlessly meld with a new, bohemian sound. – Menaka Gopinath
