Music: Rock/Pop Earlimart w/ Hocus Pocus and the Movies

To non-locals, seeing Earlimart, California, on a map may not mean much beyond the fact that an indie-rock band named itself after the city, but other towns wish they had such a cool claim to fame. Earlimart is a hardworking act now based in LA; the outfit's latest full-length, Hymn and Her, is a tight and focused effort. What was once a collective is now just Aaron Espinoza and Ariana Murray, who polish taut, melodic gems that recall the sad beauty of Elliott Smith. Supporting tonight are Silver Lake favorites the Movies and Hocus Pocus, the latter playing with members of Dios Malos.
