The term "thrance" is a bit of a curveball as far as descriptions of performances go. It's used to describe a hybrid of theater and dance that, according to the Outlaw Style Thrance Company, involves character-based movement and a broad array of musical genres. The group's new performance, The Heist Show: A Thrance Caper, follows the story of a less-than-gifted group of burglars who get themselves into a serious pickle attempting the crime of their lives. Cuts from Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Sly & the Family Stone, and others fill a memorable soundtrack.
