Kori Newkirk transforms the mundane into the monumental with his new installation, RANK. The deceptively simple sculpture — an outsized, mirrored podium — invokes the theatricality of American politics, wherein messages are lobbed at the public, but the public can only see itself reflected in the onslaught. Also, video artist Miguel Angel Rios presents Crudo (Spanish for "raw"), an alarming and hypnotic work in which a man dances before an audience of hungry dogs while wearing a suit covered with raw meat. The bizarre ritual fits oddly well with Newkirk's suspicions about the political circus.
