As Bret Easton Ellis fans eagerly await the literary follow-up to the escapades of Clay and company (tentatively titled Imperial Bedrooms), they can comfort themselves in revisiting the not-so-faithful film adaptation Hollywood unleashed over 20 years ago. Less Than Zero stars the original brat pack of Andrew McCarthy, Jami Gertz, James Spader, and Robert Downey Jr. — and features a cameo from the then-unknown Brad Pitt — in a sex, drug, and '80s rock 'n roll spiral that captures LA at its seediest and sexiest. Rounding out tonight's double-feature tribute to drugs and dudes is the Coen Brothers' classic The Big Lebowski, their hilarious Raymond Chandler-inspired paean to a Cali slacker.
