Music: Global World Music Night at LA Zoo

Anyone who has seen The Jungle Book knows that wild animals and live music go hand-in-hand. For one night, the city's landmark zoo is transformed into a stage and graced by bands from all parts of the globe. After checking out the animals, who are allowed to stay up past their bedtimes for the event, take in Masanga Marimba Ensemble's traditional Zimbabwean tunes, Wicked Tinkers' Scottish swing, Russian folk from Balalaika Rascals, Skip Waring's German Band, and music from the many Peruvian, Caribbean, African, or Indian acts on the bill. Though the zoo's food and beverage kiosks are open, guests are invited to pack a picnic.
