Avoid the five-hour flight from LA to Hawaii — as well as the muumuu-clad tourists — by heading down to the Enchanted Tiki Luau Blow-Out at the Egyptian Theatre. The third-annual summer extravaganza screens Pacific-set classics Fair Wind to Java, Aloma of the South Seas, and Her Jungle Love, plus vendors and food stands. Wander out to the Egyptian's courtyard to check out traditional Hawaiian music from King Kukelele and his Friki Tikis as well as the Polynesian Paradise Dancers. Don't be shy about pulling those multicolored floral dresses and button-ups out of the "vacation wear" drawer, as island attire is strongly encouraged.
