In DNJ's latest exhibition, eight artists take their cameras on the road and on rail, underground into mines, onto farms, and deep into abstract realms to document life in modern-day China. Gao Hongxun tricks both the eye and mind with subjects that seemingly float in the air for an eternity, while Wang Fuchun and Wang Tong take classic black-and-white portraits of fellow citizens traveling by train and bike, exploring how transportation plays a important role in a growing nation. These photographers' ability to shine a fresh light on clearly familiar themes educates while it satisfies.
