Music: Rock/Pop The Hold Steady w/ the Loved Ones

While the Hold Steady's 2006 release Boys and Girls in America inspired a lot of Springsteen comparisons, no one could deny the greatness of Craig Finn and company's blissfully unironic sing-alongs. Their recently released followup, Stay Positive, delivers more bluesy classic rock, but this time, the songs are a little less thematically connected. Still, catchy tunes like the title track and "Sequestered in Memphis" remain as brilliant as their predecessors. Tonight, the band rocks out along with Philly punks the Loved Ones.
