- In spite of their ivy-oriented band name, chamber-pop trio Princeton are actually from here in LA. Adding to the geographical incongruency, Princeton's latest EP, Bloomsbury, reanimates the London intellectual circle that included Virginia Woolf and her husband, Leonard, along with John Maynard Keynes and others. The project suggests Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, but Princeton happily forge their own path, with irresistible twee melodies that hang gently between the Kinks and Os Mutantes. Twin brothers Jesse and Matt Kivel harmonize sweetly, along with dashes of ukulele, oboe, and harpsichord redolent of Wes Anderson's dreams. – Max Goldberg
