Neil Simon has authored some of the most popular American plays of the last century, including the much-loved Eugene Trilogy, which follows an aspiring comedy writer during WWII. Broadway Bound is the last of that series (which also includes Biloxi Blues and Brighton Beach Memoirs, immortalized on film by Woody Allen) and focuses on Eugene and his brother Stanley, who turn to their own dysfunctional family for comedic fodder. LA Theatre Works brings this classic to the Skirball as part of its The Play's the Thing radio-broadcast performance series. Dan Castellaneta — the gifted actor trapped in the gilded cage of Homer Simpson — stars.
