Afterall is a joint publishing venture between LA- and London-based arts organizations committed to broadening the scope of art scholarship to include social and political contexts. This three-part rooftop screening series celebrates the release of a new issue of the organization's journal with a series of low-fi, high-concept science-fiction films and artist videos. These accidental classics (including Charles and Ray Eames gem Powers of Ten) boast a Dr. Who-meets-MacGyver production style and demonstrate the psychological and metaphorical value of conventional images of the alien, the futuristic, and the frightening.
