Film Bell, Book and Candle (1958)

Directed by Richard Quine, Bell, Book and Candle finds James Stewart and Kim Novak on-screen together for the second time, and in a considerably lighter mood than during their first pairing in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. Novak plays a Greenwich Village witch who falls for her publisher neighbor (Stewart), only to be confronted with a profound choice involving the intricacies of the witch code of conduct. Her cat, needless to say, waits on tenterhooks for her decision. As if you need another reason to check this flick out: Jack Lemmon plays what has been described as a "jazz-loving warlock."
