Over the past ten years, Greenway Court Theater's Da Poetry Lounge has gained fame as an acclaimed open-mic and spoken-word venue, hosting some of the country's most talented poets, writers, and performers. Celebrate the Word marks this anniversary with seven days of spectacular spoken word and poetry events, opening with a poetry slam and, later, must-see performances from Steve Connell and Sekou (tha Misfit). Other highlights include a reunion of the Tony Award-winning Def Poetry Jam cast and a screening of Slam (1998), the Sundance Grand Jury Prize-winner about a talented young MC trying to make it out of the projects.
