The Drums Inside Your Chest is back for a second smash year. The brainchild (or lovechild, really) of actress, artist, and author Amber Tamblyn is the hottest spoken-word revue in town. The night is hosted by wry musical wordsmith Beau Sia and features incendiary performances from Tamblyn as well as a compendium of national slam champs including poet and politico Andrea Gibson, warm-hearted bad boy Mike McGee, and Brooklyn-based lyrical commentator Roger Bonair-Agard — plus San Fran poet laureate Jack Hirschman and magician Rob Zabrecky. All proceeds may benefit the Write Now Poetry Society, but all of the heart-thumping grammatolatry and hearty laughter benefits your head and heart.
