World-renowned Mexican silversmith Antonio Pineda brings more than 200 of his masterpieces up the coast to UCLA's Fowler Museum, to show what an especially talented pair of hands can create. Born among the red-roofed mountainside houses of Taxco, Pineda is largely responsible for the city's reputation as a metal-art mecca. With an uncanny ability to select perfect gems and make even the largest pieces comfortable and lightweight, the artist, now 89, has built a successful career by using traditional techniques to bring modern designs to life. Silver Seduction traces his extraordinary 40-year career spent composing classic, yet contemporary, bling.
