The baby sibling of up-and-coming indie mixer Newport Beach Film Festival, Cinema Orange features a stellar lineup of films that are far from the typical multiplex fodder. Tonight's Animation Showcase provides a selection of inspired short films by traditional and avant-garde animators from around the world. The August 21 installment screens The Universe of Keith Haring, an eye-opening look at the artist's personal and professional worlds, complete with a trippy techno soundtrack courtesy of Angelo Talocci. On August 28, the series premieres Spine Tingler! The William Castle Story, Jeffrey Schwarz's documentary about flamboyant American filmmaker William Castle.
