See Line Gallery kicks off its new salon series To Please and Educate with three consecutive Friday-night receptions. Week one features in-gallery studio hours as Jow recreates the pseudo-office environment in which she endlessly hand-crafts vintage corporate letterheads. For week two, Kathrin Burmester conducts hourly screenings of her new multimedia installation, Tour, which deconstructs a tourist's multi-dimensional brand of voyeurism. For the third and final week, painter Greg Santos combines sculptural installation and audience participation, recreating a post-Civil War con man's Dollar Store storefront arcade.
