The "sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll" trifecta holds ample sway in the work of Los Angeles artist Tofer Chin. For his latest collection at this intimate Venice gallery, Chin takes op art to new heights with the addition of "sexual energy" (abstract imagery of phalluses and yonic symbols), hallucinogenic psychedelia, and Aphex Twin lyrics (the titles of many of his works). His new works are painted with precision and energy, and represent a markedly different style for Chin, whose more mainstream design work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Nylon, and Vice.
