The Fellowship of Fortuna (and its "messenger," LA painter and media artist Gordy Grundy) takes up residence on Western Project's website for a 21-week series of virtual events and downloadable art. Grundy's popular lifestyle columns in Artillery and Coagula deliver a Bukowski-meets-Fitzgerald take on the LA art scene, while his own work weds naked ambition with tongue-in-cheek spirituality and DIY digitalia. His latest project is an evolving menu of graphics and short videos such as No Further West, and the more recent installment, Paragon, streaming micro-trailers that can be found by following a series of clickable signs on the site. It's tautological self-promotion, but it also twists the concept of medium as message. In this case, the messenger is the message.
