David Gedge formed the Wedding Present in 1985 after his former band fell apart. (In an act of delicious scandal, his drummer left him for his guitarist.) The iconic British rock band would become adored by John Peel and build a cult following for its jangly, insistent guitars and Gedge's intimate tales of love and heartache.
