Kristina Wong, whose past projects include a parody mail-order bride website called Big Bad Chinese Mama, holds nothing back during her irreverent, no-topic-is-off-limits performances. Like all good satirists, Wong is fearless, but although she skewers her targets with a slash-and-burn style, her stories also have a delicate sense of irony. In its LA premiere, Wong Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest explores the frequency of mental illness among Asian-American women, in addition to other sensitive topics. As a member of the National Performance Network roster, Cuckoo's Nest has been seasoned in some of the more progressive theaters and festivals in the US.
