At most galleries and museums, squeezing the art is most definitely at the top of the list of "don'ts" — but then, Ghettogloss has always prided itself on doing things a bit differently. Its latest exhibition focuses on the art of soft sculpture (think less Claes Oldenburg, more Hello Kitty) and displays the work of 22 artists. Highlights include ever-so-touchable handmade dolls, robots, and other creatures, including pieces from Mr. Funky, the clothing/stuffed-animal label created by designer Narumi Ogawa. The festive opening reception features an appearance from Mr. Funky himself, cocktails, and a set by DJ Lance Rock.
