Meat Puppets w/ the Shaky Hands and Stab City

Led by brothers Curt and Cris Kirkwood, punk-rock pioneers Meat Puppets have enjoyed a decades-long run with roots in seminal indie label SST Records. Still, most people know the band, if at all, as those guys Kurt Cobain plucked from obscurity when they helped Nirvana perform several Meat Puppets songs on a classic episode of MTV Unplugged. The exposure led to the Puppets' only charting single, "Backwater," and a gold record, 1994's Too High to Die. Since that mid-'90s heyday, the Kirkwoods have battled personal demons, but they've reunited after a long hiatus and appear tonight in support of their new album, Rise to Your Knees.
