32nd Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade

Art-world evil stepchild of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses, the Doo Dah Parade has been tearing up Colorado Boulevard with tongue-in-cheek tomfoolery since 1976. Past participants include a shopping-cart drill team, marching lumberjacks, and the parade's "official" band, Snotty Scotty and the Hankies. This year's Grand Marshal is none other than LA's resident kitsch guru Charles Phoenix, who will be riding a siren-blaring, fire-engine red 1964 Ford station wagon, flanked by his famed roller-skating entourage and a matching vintage trailer. Beginning at 8:30am, members of the public are invited to fill up on an all-you-can eat pancake breakfast for $7, before getting their weird on.

Note:

While the parade is free, these guys could always use your spare change; donations are encouraged to keep the offbeat tradition going.
