Craft and Folk Art Museum says…

Where London has the Victoria and Albert, LA has the Craft and Folk Art Museum; yet, too often, the little institution has been overshadowed by its culturally monolithic neighbor LACMA. In conjunction with Black History Month, the CAFAM takes its rightful place on the exhibition radar, with 200 years' worth of African-American paper dolls. From Aunt Jemima to Beyoncé, the collection of cultural artifacts chronicles our nation's complex attitudes toward race, highlighting the tenuous divisions between leisure, commerce, and satire.
