Louisiana-born singer/songwriter Lelia Broussard is a relatively new name on the indie block. After dabbling in pop and R&B, she's been showcasing her latest musical incarnation with this month's Thursday night residency at the Hotel Cafe. Her new EP, Waiting on the 9, is an intimate, pared-down, and revealing take on grown-up love, bringing a little Southern blues to Broussard's sultry crooning. Tonight's show celebrating the EP's release finds her joined by an all-star backing band; the overstuffed bill also includes road warriors Dead Rock West, the Deadbirds, and Holly Conlan, as well as an early set from Samantha Mollen.
