Dimitri From Paris has parlayed his schmaltzy, retro-sexy-lounge persona (yes, he even appeared on an Austin Powers soundtrack) into a longstanding, unabashedly fromage-packed career. While more recent material is housier and farther reaching (Latin rhythms, '80s synth excursions, full-throated vocal contributions) than the precious, lite-jazz stylings of his 1996 classic, Sacrebleu, Dimitri's Continental playfulness is still well evidenced on his string of appropriately branded Playboy Mansion releases. Tonight, Dimitri's brisk, tasteful tunes rub up alongside house and techno from LA's DJ Reza, while Avalon's Honey Lounge is manned by a pair of Lees: Curtiss and Foss.
