The Egyptian Theatre's Focus on Female Directors series features eight shorts, including Green Porno, Isabella Rossellini's titillating probe into the sex lives of insects. Another eclectic and innovative highlight, Lana Kim and Andy Bruntel's C'mon Baby features stop-motion photography, while haunted Kirsten Dunst fable Welcome boasts an appearance by Winona Ryder. The program also includes documentaries, video art, and narratives, and concludes with a discussion with Amy Axelson and Kimberly M. Wetherell about their short Why We Wax. Words from Nicole Mitchell, whose Zoologic won her a 2008 Student Academy Award, round out the evening.
