The Little Ones play the kind of pop music LA does best: no rock posturing or fake tales of hard knocks — just "California Dreamin'" for the new millennium. With hearty nods to '60s pop (think Beach Boys and the Zombies), the quintet's momentum has steadily grown since 2006's Sing Song EP. Last summer's full-length, Morning Tide, delivered another set of garrulous, clap-along pop tunes. The band hits the Natural History Museum's first First Friday of the year tonight alongside the folk-rockisms of Montreal-bred indie rockers Plants and Animals.
