In these turbulent political times, the Center for the Study of Political Graphics can help us make sense of the glut of campaign ads and rampant sloganeering. As one of the world's largest archives of protest posters, the organization's collection contains thousands of images and documents from around the world, all of which are available for exhibition, publication, study, and in many cases, purchase. Tonight's annual benefit, held at Union Station, is hosted by irreverent comedian/writer Sandra Tsing Loh and includes a dinner buffet as well as music from Marcus L. Miller with Freedom Jazz Movement. In addition to the art auction (conducted by gallerist Robert Berman), activist, teacher, and artist June Wayne receives the Culture of Liberation Awards, while art historian David Kunzle receives the Historian of the Lions Award.
