Urban-folk singer (and new dad) Dan Bern visits the Hotel Café to tell his incisive, political and sexually charged tall tales in an easy, whisky-soaked kind of voice reminiscent of Tom Petty, with hints of Joe Henry. Although the California artist isn't averse to adding drum, synth, and harmonica to the strong guitar melodies that are the foundation of his songs, it's his lyrics that really paint the picture.
