The Standard Hotel's monthly Compact Disco dance party presents Rock the Mike. In honor of the King of Pop, guests are encouraged to attend in their best MJ gear — or in the style of any famous Mike you prefer, including (but not limited to) Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan, Michael Myers, Mike Myers, and Philip Michael Thomas. And yes, there will be prizes. This month's guest DJ is Evil One, who has played with the much-missed DJ AM, Prince Paul, and DJ Swamp, produces parties for Scion, and is generally known for the depth of his crates, dropping classics, hip hop, rock, dancehall, electronic, and maybe a Michael gem or two.
