“Fresh off her spellbinding SNL appearance, Soviet-born singer/songwriter Regina Spektor appears tonight in support of her latest, Far. Produced in part by Mike Elizondo (Eminem, Dr. Dre), Far takes the classically trained pianist to far-off folk places; she's also teaming up with Greg Gardens lyricist Michael Korie for a new Broadway-bound musical, Beauty, a Grimm-inspired "provocative fairy tale." Expect a tease of that tonight, and of course tracks from her finest release to date.”
Pianist and vocalist, Regina Spektor will be returning to Los Angeles later this year to perform at the Greek Theatre on Wednesday, October 28.
Seating at the Greek Theatre will be reconfigured to allow for an even more intimate setting.
Captivating audiences with songs that are distinctively her own, Regina Spektor has gone from hypnotizing small crowds to selling out 3,000 capacity venues worldwide with what Rolling Stone praised as "one of the most intensely joyful rock shows we've seen." Spektor's remarkable gift to craft intelligent and refreshingly honest odes to life, and her amazing ability to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary is evident all over on her latest release far, which debuted at #3 on The Billboard Top 200.
Along with NPR, USA Today, Vanity Fair, The Los Angeles Times, Entertainment Weekly, and many others around the world, The New York Times raves far is “[Spektor’s] most ambitious work sonically and her storytelling is as elliptical as ever” while The UK Sunday Times agrees this is “her most accomplished, mystifying, eclectic and beautiful release to date. It doesn't just fly, it soars." Spin Magazine goes on to say "far snuggles between her previous efforts, linking the heady sweep of 2003's Soviet Kitsch to the roundabout pop treats of Begin To Hope” and People Magazine adds, “[Spektor’s] eclectic, breathtakingly gorgeous songs will be good company wherever you go.”
