LA Opera hosts a one night-only recital with one of American opera's most revered baritones, Thomas Hampson. (The next recital is a much-anticipated return from soprano diva Renée Fleming.) The Indiana-born singer's set list includes the relatively (and undeservedly) obscure music of German Lieder as well as selections from Hampson's Song of America, an initiative set up by the artist and the Library of Congress to collect and celebrate historic American song. Pianist Vlad Iftinca accompanies.
