LA-based Aaron Beaumont is a self-described piano man, but in a smoky, edgy way, not a Billy Joel way. His blues-infused finger flurries and foggy-night whisky-bender baritone kick off the kind of music night the indie rock heaven of Hotel Café was made for. Another hometown band, Alaskan Summer, follow — their intimately styled avant-bubblegum electro pop perhaps breezier, but no less soulful.
