Note:
Saturday, November 7 is the MAK Center's annual MAK Day. The free event takes place between 12-5pm, and includes a curatorial walk-through and panel discussion at the Schindler House.
The MAK Center for Art and Architecture hosts an exhibition in honor of Austrian sociologist, political scientist, intellectual, and author Otto Neurath, whose seminal text, Physicalism, eloquently examined the benefits and drawbacks of logical positivism. Neurath was also a key figure in the Vienna Circle, having drafted the philosophical society's manifesto, before relocating to Great Britain to escape Nazi occupation. Now, Otto Neurath's work is reexamined at the Schindler House through artifacts from Vienna's Settler Movement of the 1920s, a recreation of works from Neurath's Museum of Society and Economy, and an exploration of the effects of his ideas worldwide.
