For the past few years, choreographer Reggie Wilson has had an ongoing creative collaboration with Congolese choreographer, Andréya Ouamba and his company, 1er Temps, to explore the influence of Central African culture on world performance and its metaphoric, historic, and real-time parallel with Mississippi Delta culture. Wilson's dances are blends of rich traditions born from the African diaspora and fused with postmodern styles resulting in, as Wilson describes it, "post-African/Neo-Hoodoo modern dance."
