The Steve Allen Theater says…

The parking lot of the Steve Allen Theater at the Center for Inquiry West turns into a drive-in every Friday night, screening Tobe Hooper's long-lost hippie love story, Eggshells. Before directing horror films such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and Poltergeist (1982), Hooper tried his hand at documentary filmmaking, and the psychedelic Eggshells marks a turning point in his career. While it's difficult to tell how much of the film is also a documentary, the seeds of Hooper's horror career are evident (the hippies convene at a house with cheap rent because it's supposedly haunted), but between the extended dirty-bathtub discussions and animated musical sequences, the film defies genre. It's preceded by authentic '60s and '70s-era film announcements, trailers, and Tobe Hooper's short homage to Roger Corman, The Heisters (1963).
