Harkening back to his days in a Navy band, trombonist mega-legend Bill Watrous takes the stage with Southern California's premier military band, the 562nd Air Force Band's Patriots in Blue Jazz Ensemble. Playing in the tradition of notable military bands like Glenn Miller's in the '40s, the 562nd provide the brassy, groovy canvas for Watrous to deliver a bop-laden masterpiece of trombone virtuosity. Performing a Tom Kubis-heavy repertoire, Watrous and his military mates bring a jumpin' and jivin' set to Angelenos this evening.
