Most cities define the holiday spirit by decking the halls, stringing a few lights, and covering the streets with humdrum holiday visuals. But the creative folks in downtown Santa Ana ditch the usual fare, opting for an experiential journey replete with a high-tech electronic mapping of the historical Spurgeon Building using multiple-networked projection systems to create a visual feast of three-dimensional, liquid architecture. Chris Alfaro, of electronic outfit Free the Robots, along with LA-based chamber group Definiens Project, provide the aural soundtrack synced to the animated illusions.
