Note:
An RSVP is required to attend the special events.
Indie book stores, short-run publishers, and artists are encouraged to commingle with like-minded vendors at the Independent Book Fair hosted by Art Catalogues, MoCA's rare-book annex. T. Kelly Mason spins at Friday's opening night party, kicking off a three-day celebration of handsomely bound treasures, with a special focus on art-themed and artist-made tomes. Saturday afternoon, the Manitoba Museum of Finds Art stages a bake sale and Henry Hopkins look-alike contest (hint: start growing those handlebars now). The unlikely combination of frosting, laughter, and rara libri concludes with the Futurist Manifesto's 100th birthday party, hosted by legend of Beat poetry, modern art, and post-modern operetta, George Herms.
