Bibliophiles race from the book store to the brasserie, as another month of Book Party takes over the Mandrake. Hosted by Emily Benz and Liz Anderson, this literary happy hour showcases emerging wordsmiths among garden martinis and special guest authors. This month, award-winning penner of rhythmic, free-form, politically evocative poetry Marlys West and influential LA novelist Aimee Bender (The Girl in the Flammable Skirt) offer passages from selected works, with interstitial DJ sets and lively conversational threads tying it all together.
