Santa Monica Museum of Art says…

In conjunction with the Robert Berman Gallery's Rock, Paper, Scissor exhibition, Raymond Pettibon's Niche Makers, Ron English's Electric Illuminati, and Mike Watt + the Secondmen perform at today's benefit for the Santa Monica Museum of Art. The gallery group show, on view through March 21, features drawings, paintings, collages, installations, and conceptual pieces by artists who are also established musicians — including Daniel Johnston, Butthole Surfers' Gibby Haynes, and Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, and Lee Ranaldo. Pettibon and English appear together for the first time in this afternoon's concert, to raise funds for SMMOA's exhibitions and education and outreach programs.
