Saint Joseph Ballet is well-known for its wildly successful arts-based youth programs, helping to cultivate self-esteem, confidence, and leadership through dancemaking principles. With New Dance, the 26-year-old company is also filling a vital role in the development and presentation of new works by local choreographers. This edition brings four premieres of commissioned works — from Collage Dance Theatre, Keith Johnson/Dancers, Kristen Smiarowski, and Rae Shao-Lan Blum — providing an evening of multiple distinct and varied styles.
