The Los Angeles Conservancy and Modern Committee resurrect our city's religious heritage with a one-day driving tour of five spiritual institutions. Drawing on themes of reinvention, the tour takes visitors to the 1923 Angelus Temple, home of Aimee Semple McPherson's Foursquare Church; Glendale's Chapel of the Jesus Ethic and fountainhead of the Foundation of Niscience; the 112-year-old Bonnie Brae House, where the modern North American Pentecostal movement took root; Manly P. Hall's Philosophical Research Society; and the headquarters of the Self-Realization Fellowship, in one of LA's first suburbs, Mount Washington.
