In an effort to foster harmony among female creatives, the Pink Parlour Festival has invited scores of artists, crafters, musicians, and DJs to the Santa Anita Racetrack, where it stages this entertaining, affordable, and one-of-a-kind shopping spree. Considering the venue, those torn between gambling and shopping are asked to take into account what 20 bucks can get you in handcrafted goods, versus placing it all on a strangely named horse. Live indie bands supply the sale's blues-infused tunes and toned-down, retro-riot grrrl rants, while DJs spinning Francophile-inspired melodies and other loungey sounds wind down the fair.
