Ghanian reggae sensation Rocky Dawuni is known for riveting live performances with his 11-piece band, the Revelation Project, as well as a dedication to promoting social justice. He's been a powerful voice for Product (RED) and, most recently, a collaborator on Concord Music's remake of "War/No More Trouble" with Bono. In 2001, Dawuni launched the Independence Splash concert in Ghana, to honor the country's newly found freedom. Eight years later, he brings the popular concert stateside for the first time, to celebrate the election of the first African American US president, and its implications for social and political equality worldwide. Afro Funke' resident DJs Jeremy Sole of KCRW and Glenn Red support with special guests.
