Over 40 local visual artists, musicians, performers, and DJs converge at the massive indoor/outdoor gallery and dance party for Create:Fixate's first happening of 2009. Working off personally selected quotations, the participating artists explore the tenuous, sometimes contentious relationship between language and the visual arts, as well as the articulation of creative ideas and the artistic process itself. Live painting, edible art, videos, and fashion blend with the static works to propose a new universal meta-art — an all-inclusive medium comprised of multiple forms of artistic expression working in concert, including words.
