Located in the deepest reaches of Devendra Banhart's wet dreams, the freak-folk forest's famed fridge is the best place to keep a techtacular slice of whirling rockaldelica on ice. But what about a tantalizing soundscape for music tastemakers with a sophisticated taste for audible cookies? The Freake Folke Fridge Faire is less fungus-obsessed festivus, and more a Grecian-style gala for grade-A gobstoppers. In addition to performances by no-fi and shitgaze outfits like Bucketmuck Bride, Manzeee Handzzzzzzzzzzies, and Seriously! Snakes!, the four-day flop at Todd-P's massive Bushwick Outhouse of the Apocalypse space (respect our neighbors: please don't smoke or stand in front of the stalls!) features glassblowing, a vegan pork-chop toss, semi-nude needlepoint, and a visit from BowWOW, America's premier purveyor of legal puppy meats.
